Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has backed new singing Luka Modric to fit right into his team and become a firm favourite at the Bernabeu.
The Croatian moved to the Spanish capital last month, after a summer of speculation which saw the Los Blancos board battle it out with his former club Tottenham Hotspur to agree the best deal possible.
However, the uncertainly hasn’t upset the 26-year-old and he has so far shone on his appearances for Mourinho’s men.
Punters gambling online have already noted that his early performances suggest he now set to play a key role in their bid to retain the La Liga title they won last season, as well as help them in their attempts to win their first Champions League trophy in a decade.
Despite his obvious talent, Modric may not always be able to command a regular spot in the starting line-up as an attacking midfielder, due to the presence of the equally gifted duo of Mesut Ozil and Kaka.
However, Mourinho still believe she will become a big part of his side in the coming months and has tipped him to establish himself as a massive favourite amongst the fans.
“He was the only signing that we focussed on and we finally signed him which pleased me greatly,” Mourinho told several sport updates channels. “I am sure that he will fit straight in to the squad and that the supporters here will really take to him. He has talent and tactical discipline in equal measure.
“Modric is a team player, who plays for the common good, and looks for and finds his team-mates.
“He also has a great touch, a bit of magic, that they will love at the Bernabeu,” he added.
