Gareth Bale believes he is now playing the best football of his career and only expects to get better in the coming years.
The winger once again proved his undoubted importance to Tottenham as he scored both goals, including a stoppage time winner in their Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday.
This means he has now netted all of Spurs’ goals in their last four matches, firing home an incredible six times in the process, taking his tally to 17 for the campaign.
His recent form has seen him mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
With the Lilywhites unlikely to start challenging for the title in the next few years, it’s been suggested by punters who bet on premier league transfers that he could be joining the aforementioned duo in Spain sooner rather than later.
Bale has been truly outstanding in recent weeks and on current form is arguably the best attacking player in the whole of English football.
The 23-year-old is understandably delighted with how he’s been playing but says he won’t be resting on his laurels and is hoping to get even better over the next few years.
“I would probably say it is the best I have been playing in my career,” he told football betting news reporters. “As I said I am enjoying my football and the team is playing well which makes things easier for me.
“I just have to keep my head down and keep working hard and keep my form. I still have a lot of improvement, I know what I have to do but season on season I am improving but I will just keep working hard and hopefully get better.”
