Following on from my big win yesterday, i backed Tommy Haas to beat Fernando Gonzalez in tennis – the LA open (match started at 12am GMT).
It was live on betfair TV so i kept an eye on it and it’s a good thing i did. Haas started well, but late in the first set complained of a blister on his hand… he needed a doctor on court and was moaning and whinging constantly in the last couple of games in the first set.
Odds started to drift but the match went on an in to a tie break. Haas didn’t look comfortable at all and was looking to retire – you could see it in his face.
So i stuck €10 on Gonzalez at 1.32… betfair rules state that match bets will stand provided the first set is complete, otherwise all bets are void… So i knew that *if* Haas completed the first set, i’d lose €2… however, if i stuck €10 on Gonzalez to win, i’d be in profit
So Haas played and lost the first set tie break and then retired meaning a quick bit of thinking got me out of a potential €2 loss and turned it in to €1.80 profit
Later in the night (well early morning), i also won 62c on a Trinidad and Tobago soccer match. So it means i’ve started today with a solid €2.42 profit.
My balance is now up to €35.34 so i’ve made a quick comeback and i’m now beginning to stretch my lead over Enda again. I started the week with 2 consecutive days of losses, and i’ve now come back with 2 consecutive days of profit. Just the response i needed.
